The 48 piece concert band has traced its roots back to a July 4, 1870 performance by the St. Charles Brass Band. Nancy Garza has directed the Band since its reorganization to a not-for-profit organization in 1993. In addition to a 13 week summer concert series, the Band performs for civic events, retirement homes and City of St. Charles special events.

There will not be a Concert on July 2.
The Concert Band will be in the July 4 Parade which starts at 10 AM at Blanchette Park, winding through the city to main street.
The Concert Band will also perform on July 4 @ 5:45 PM in Frontier Park as part of Riverfest.
St Charles will celebrate the Bicentennial of it's incorporation in 2009. The Municipal Band will help celebrate by hosting 3 concerts during the summer which highlight the history of St Charles through music depicting the events. The three concerts are scheduled for June 11, July 9 and August 13.

The 19 piece Big Band was formed in 1999 and is led by Earl Kreder. In addition to a summer concert series, the big band plays for picnics, dances and other civic events in the St. Charles community. Many of the musicians play professionally with big bands in the St. Louis area.
