The 50 piece concert band has traced its roots back to a July 4, 1870 performance  by the St. Charles Brass Band.  Nancy Garza has directed the Band  since  its reorganization to a not-for-profit organization in 1993.  In  addition to a 13 week  summer concert series,  the  Band  performs  for  civic events,  retirement homes and City of St. Charles special events. The St Charles Municipal Band Closed it's 2011 Concert Season with a delightful Holiday Concert on December 15 at the newly renovated Lindenwood Cultural Center . The Above Photograph shows Santa Claus and Director, Nancy Garza discussing where his reindeer are parked. An audience of 200 enjoyed the Holiday music performed by both the Concert and Jazz Bands.

The Jazz Band- 2011

The 20 piece Big Band was formed in 1999 and is led by Earl Kreder.  In addition to a summer concert series, the big band plays for picnics, dances and other civic events in the St. Charles community.   Many of the musicians play professionally with big bands in the St. Louis area. The above photo was taken at the 2011 Spring Concert.

The Jazz Bands first performance in 2012 will be at the St Peters Friday Night Dance on February 24 from 7 - 10 PM. The Dance is held in the St Peters City Hall on Mexico Rd. The dance is open to the public. There is a $7 cover charge per person collected by the City of St Peters.
